The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many couples to cancel or change their original wedding plans. Sam and Kirsten's September wedding was no different; it was scheduled to take place at a beautiful hotel in downtown St. John's, but when COVID restrictions were implemented they quickly changed their plans to Sam's parents' backyard - which I truly don't think could have showcased who they are any better.
In Newfoundland, our summer wedding restrictions capped off at 50 people. The pandemic has shown us to take account of what really matters on your wedding day - marrying the love of your life, and celebrating with your closest family and friends. I found myself asking my couples who had chosen to go ahead with their weddings if they were glad they did, despite the restrictions; every single answer was a resounding 'yes', and they couldn't imagine their day having been any other way.
